Cologne – City of Science

The Cologne Science Forum (Kölner Wissenschaftsrunde / KWR) offers numerous leisure activities that make science tangible and bring it to life: whether it's public lectures at Science in the Town Hall, excursions, talks and guided tours as part of Cologne Theme Weeks, or lectures at unusual locations in the Science in Cologne Houses (WiKH) series. Young researchers will find numerous hands-on activities at the Cologne Children's University. In addition, there are events and announcements from the 16 member universities and 7 non-university research institutions. Many exciting topics await you – simply choose the format that suits you best from the numerous offerings.

Cologne Science Forum – A strong centre for science

The Cologne Science Round Table (KWR) was officially established on 1 March 2004 at the invitation of former Lord Mayor Fritz Schramma by representatives of all Cologne's universities and research institutions, the City of Cologne and the Cologne Chamber of Industry and Commerce. The KWR highlights the region's numerous scientific and economic potentials with its diverse range of offerings. It contributes to the intensive networking of scientific institutions among themselves, but also between science and industry, thereby strengthening Cologne's profile and competitiveness as a centre of science. With its networking and public relations work, the KWR actively contributes to the development of a sustainable urban society.
